Back from ShelterBox AFT Training

by Fire Girl Jess on October 17, 2011

Setting up the ShelterBox camp.

Got back last night from a phenomenal weekend at the second ShelterBox Ambassador Field Training.  I came home with well over 900 images and, despite spending much of last night arguing with a malfunctioning memory card, and excited to delve into the shots.

I am quite literally running out the door to a day of appointments, but look for a full report on the training and a photo series to be posted very soon!

In the meantime, please familiarize yourself with ShelterBox’s mission.  These are amazing volunteers doing amazing work – and making a difference.

Hey Jess,
Can’t wait for the post about the weekend! At the risk of sounding trite, I am inspired by the way you use your photography for the benefit of others. Awareness and education seems to be the highest outcome of photography. I hope I can follow your example in the future.

Jen, you’re already well on your way!

If photography and writing are an avenue for me to help out groups like Shelterbox, I am thrilled to be able to do so. We all have our own skills to put to use; even if it is something simple like this.

Looks a bit like Mars. Good on ya, Fire Girl. Anxiously awaiting the report.

Continue to kick ass. Over and out.
