Today’s my birthday, and finding myself away from family and friends it’s been a good day for contemplation.
It’s been a hell of a year.
If one year ago someone would have told me that I would be doing what I am doing, have seen what I have seen, I would have laughed in their face and quite possibly bought them a beer. It would have been hard to imagine that I would be published in the magazines I have been, have had the opportunity – and made the opportunities – to photograph what I have over the past twelve months.
And I never, ever would have imagined I’d be living in Colorado running a dressage barn.
I’ve just turned twenty-three and thinking about the last year makes my head spin.
That’s the real fun of it, though. Who knows what is waiting around the bend? Isn’t it more important to be out there, getting your hands dirty, pushing boundaries, and really living than just sitting around waiting for something to happen?
Life is short. Make the most of it.
Can’t wait to see what on earth I’m doing in one year.
