Wrapping up the week and the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation

It’s been a pleasantly busy week here at FGP. Last weekend I photographed the Lakeway / Lake Travis Rotary Adoption Awareness event. The images should be running in local Austin area papers this week and a few are also available to view at the Lakeway / Lake Travis Rotary website. The event had a fantastic turnout, including some of the most interesting children I had met in a long time. It always, always holds true… kids who have been or are going through tough circumstances make for much more interesting subjects. Something about the combination of youth and hard-won experience, I guess.   It shows in their eyes and, hopefully, in the images.

Climbers, fly fishermen, and South Texas rivers have been on the docket this week as well.

I just posted my mini-site for the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation’s Emerging Photographer Grant. It is a huge honor and I am thrilled to be involved! This is a fantastic program that aids “talented emerging and established photographers around the world” to continue their work.

I am excited to see what the future holds.
