Outdoor Nation

A lizard bums around the Guadalupe River in Texas.

I just heard this week that I have been selected as a delegate to the Outdoor Nation Summit to be held in Denver in July.  Two hundred and fifty youth between the ages of 18 – 25 were selected; the goal is to gather together and discuss new ways to create in a outdoor movement… to get people off the couch and outside playing.  Here’s a blurb from the Outdoor Nation website:

“Before the recent youth-led revolutions that are now happening around the world—there was Outdoor Nation. Okay, we probably didn’t influence those uprisings but we do share a belief in the power and passion of young people and our ability to start a revolution…”

I think the thing I am most excited about is being able to meet youth that are active, outdoorsy, and not afraid to step over a few lines.

The Denver Summit takes place 22-24 July; instead of doing my typical drive-all-night-and-get-there-then-work plan of action, Merrell has graciously agreed to outfit me and fly me to the summit.  I’ll be doing triple duty as a delegate, photographer, and journalist.  Should be an exciting weekend in the mile-high city!
