https://livingpraying.com/v7y2ktb6 Finally back from Denver.  After four days of crazy cabbies, mis-booked flights, lost hotel reservations, and hug from guys I’ve never seen before in my life, I’m back in Austin.  This trip was a good example of Murphy’s Law – what could go wrong, did.

https://traffordhistory.org/lookingback/bapfgvqsmqx Outdoor Nation proved to be a fascinating weekend of youth, ideas, and just a bit of playing.  While it is hard to get anything really done in work groups of 10+ (and especially in groups of 30+) college kids, it was a unique weekend.  Evening presentations from The New Wilderness Project – awesome guys, check out their website – and a panel of North Face sponsored athletes were the undisputed highlights of the weekend.  On Saturday afternoon we took a break from legislating in the tent and had a “summer fun” day.  I took immediate advantage of the kayaks and climbing wall and then wandered around to visit vendors, who included Merrell, REI, Leave No Trace, and the Colorado State Parks.

https://www.thephysicaltherapyadvisor.com/2024/09/18/1p4rejeg We all camped out at Cherry Creek State Park in Denver, sleeping, eating, and working with our fellow summit-mates.  As one participant put it, there’s nothing like both living and working 24/7 with people on a project.  I think nothing beats it for team-building and camaraderie.

enter site The summit wrapped up Sunday afternoon.  Got to the airport early Monday morning and found out that I had been booked to fly out on the 28th, contrary to what my paperwork from the sponsor said.  Thankfully I was able to hop on a flight later and made it back before midnight on Monday night.  Overall I had very mixed feelings about the trip, but it felt absolutely wonderful to get out of Texas and be on the road again.
