Christmas in the Mountains

https://purestpotential.com/qx6bzju This is an image from the Bozeman Christmas stroll a few years ago.  Temperatures had dropped below zero but the downtown streets were filled with bundled-up families and a variety of livestock, resplendent in Christmas cheer.

https://paradiseperformingartscenter.com/e25ezyy37d Street photography can take many forms – from staking a claim on a stretch of street and photographing all day to strolling and shooting images on a cell phone.  This night I wandered around, keeping an extra camera battery underneath my shirt to keep it warm – the cold saps batteries like nothing else.

https://www.marineetstamp.com/ch4lp73nhk From the motion of the sleigh horses’ harnesses to the fluffy furriness of the woman’s coat, this picture captures Christmas in Bozeman for me.  The monochrome scale holds true to Christmas in the mountains – the world becomes a blur of black and white with splotches of color popping up in unexpected places.
