Driving in the north entrance of the park and spending the day exploring snow-covered roads and trails has been one of my favorite activities as an adult. Somehow it feels like that’s the way Yellowstone is meant to be—heavy silence, wild animals and harsh conditions. Take away all the traffic and people of summer and there’s a purity to the experience.
