https://dcinematools.com/a9t9xxil30s Photography is a funny business.

https://onlineconferenceformusictherapy.com/2025/02/22/v3np7da It really is.

enter An image one editor may see as the next Pulitzer winner, another may glance at and dismiss in a matter of seconds.

https://penielenv.com/qriji0oe Sure, there are the basic rules of photography.  In focus, colors true to life, composition, the rule of thirds… the list goes on and on.

https://alldayelectrician.com/t9fessh And, once you have mastered the list, you can start breaking rules.

https://danivoiceovers.com/mnegm1oppcn That is where the fun comes in.

https://www.yolascafe.com/mb3dzmeit But, at the end of the day, it remains up to the individual viewer to view, interpret, and absorb the image.

source site I was listening to the movie Inception the other night while working through photo files (I’ve discovered as I am busier, I more often listen to movies than actually watch them.  It’s hard to sit down for two hours and not get anything productive done.)  At one point, British forger Eames is talking to team lead Cobb about a possible job they will undertake.

https://getdarker.com/editorial/articles/ceyn28wpn “…But all that stuff’s at the mercy of the subject’s prejudice.  You have to go to the basic,” Eames explains as they sit in a cafe in Mombasa.

Purchasing Tramadol The quote stopped me in my tracks.  I minimized Lightroom and clicked to iTunes to watch the scene.  It’s not the first time I had seen the movie, but it was the first time I had interpreted the line into my own world.

Party Hearty at Headhunters – July Fourth Hits Craig

by Fire Girl Jess on July 6, 2013

Before / During.

After.

After.

4_July_CW_8

Scene at the railroad tracks. This is Montana summer light after 2300h.

July 4 hit Craig with a bang, and, as seems to happen in the little fishing village, people celebrated with everything they had.

It was an evening of fireworks, BBQs, fishing tales and cheap beer.

Burning Stetsons, too.  Kind of had to be there for that one.

Nothing like celebrating our independence with the best a Montana small town has to offer.  Talk about a slice of Americana.

People lines the roadways, settling down in truck beds, chairs, rafts and drift boats to watch the show.

Kids were seen running rampant, wearing either Wranglers and cowboy hats or miniature versions of Columbia fishing shirts and quick-dry pants.  One little fellow even had his life vest on from the day’s float.

Hey, whatever works for you.  I’ve seen odder things wandering Montana streets.

You can read a bit more about it here on the Headhunter, or be sure to check out Chi Wulff tomorrow for a full report!

Swing the Fly Hits the Digital Shelves

by Fire Girl Jess on July 1, 2013

I was super stoked to see the inaugural edition of Swing the Fly magazine hitting the digital shelves this morning.  The first online publication to focus on the art of two-handed fly fishing, the publication features an editorial team that includes industry greats Marty Sheppard, Joe Willauer, Rick Kustich and Tarquin Millington-Drake.

I’m excited to see one of my images on the cover featuring Scottish guide Angus Walton on the Ponoi, and another of magazine editor Zach Williams within the pages of the magazine.

Well done to the editorial team and to Dry Fly Media for putting this one together – I’m excited to read future issues!
