As the official photographer for the Blue Water Task Force’s Fly Fishing Festival, I spent last weekend trotting back and forth from Craig to Bozeman and then on from Bozeman to Big Sky.

https://serenityspaonline.com/k8qbjpbc8f The group is, in effect, a watershed committee, and spends its time in conservation and preservation efforts on the Gallatin River.  I worked with them a bit last fall, covering a river cleanup event for a local newspaper, and when the director emailed asking if I would cover this event, I was thrilled.

Through a weekend of fly fishing movies, dodging people casting in a park, kids on impromptu water slides and a dressy dinner, I remembered how much I like event photography.  I’m looking forward to doing more in the future.

Although, in the aftermath of a marathon weekend like this, there is always the obligatory day-long edit.  With no coffee and very little food left in the apartment, the editing loses some of its charm.
