Sometimes one just needs to get out of town. Head out, leave, vacate, boogie, make tracks.
Luckily yesterday I had an excuse to leave town for a bit.
The search for a new vehicle (better for photography trips) took a friend and I to Billings, a few hours east on I-90. The search was successful and I drove home a sporty red Subaru Outback… without hitting a single deer, elk, coyote, raccoon, chipmunk, etc.
The drive out east is always an eye-opener, at least for me. Starting at Livingston, just thirty minutes east of Bozeman, the terrain changes to high desert, then to the great plains. Montana truly is a land of many contradictions; maybe that’s what we love so much about the state.
