Spray Ice

by Editor on December 14, 2009

Sometimes – quite often, actually – nature can create scenes more that are more creative than mere humans can imagine.  Strange animals, vivid sunsets, fierce storms… you name it, chances are that nature has an example ready and waiting.

While this picture does not fit into the “astounding” category, I do appreciate the jagged feel of the spray ice and the unique, almost lacy edges to it.  The color of the water as it goes from light minty green to deep, rich blue in the background draws the eye along the top of the image while the slight vertical of the line of rocks helps to draw the viewer back into the picture.  Even though this is a “square” picture, there is quite a bit of movement to it – essential for an interesting image.
