Fall Countryside in Sweden

Ovedskloster, Sweden in fall.

Going through and sorting some old image stock this past week.  I re-discovered this picture of a country lane in southern Sweden taken during the fall three years ago.  This was a very, very old church and assorted outbuildings, accessed only by a picturesque, arrow-straight lane lined by trees and shrubs.  Often the only traffic was the birds; occasionally a horse and rider would meander across the path to access a cross-country jumping course that lay to one side of the little road.  Stunning architecture – you could almost feel yourself stepping back into time and history when you walked inside.

In this case, talking out most of the color in the image and keeping only the slightest green tint has worked well.  The green concentrates the eye to the trees, shrubs, and grass while the lane, criss-crossed in shadows, draws the eye to the old buildings at the end.  More buildings peek from behind the trees to the left… the whole image makes me want to walk that lane again.
