see url Yesterday was one of those days.  I filled up the gas tank and headed over to the lower Madison River near Bear Trap Canyon.  Not exactly new territory but it proved to be a nice diversion.  A storm front was moving into the area, making for a rather challenging day for the fishermen out on the water.  (Saw lots of unhappy looking guided trips… and nearly everyone was wearing some form of warm parka.)  Regardless of the wind, however, an impressive midge hatch was coming off wherever there was some wind protection.
