Unseasonably wet and cool weather preceding the event made for muddy conditions that, in the end, did little to dampen the enthusiasm of both participants and spectators.  (Some celebratory mud-leaping did come into play after some of the rough stock rides, however!)  Youth came from all over Montana to test their competitive mettle, greet old friends, and try to qualify for the High School Rodeo Association National Finals, to be held July 18-24 in Gillette, Wyoming.

I have just started to process pictures from this weekend – stay tuned for more images and information!  Congratulations to the cowboys and cowgirls of the Montana High School Rodeo Association… you all put forth top effort and laughed along the way.  Best of luck at the finals!
