Innovative Journalists

Succulents enjoy the heat on a hot Austin day.

Success in the journalism and photography world often depends on innovation.  The ability to capture a story others are not, the creativity to think of a new angle on a photo essay, the innovation to separate yourself from the hordes of men and women out there trying to do the exact same thing you are.  Innovation is the key to success.  So why is it, then, that all too often our arena seems to be lacking innovation?

Journalism.co.uk has just released their list of the leading innovators in journalism and media in 2010.  The current list (first batch, according to the website) has 27 people, ranging from non-profit directors to newspaper editors.  Journalism.co.uk prefaces the list by stating that #1 there are no ranking to the list, #2 they will have left some people out, #3 they have listed groups as well as individuals, and #4 that the list is not limited to any given number.

Good job, Journalism.co.uk.  We look forward to seeing the next part of the list.  Thanks for recognizing those people not afraid to think outside the box!
