source site I was pleasantly surprised when I went to the site for the 2010 Dover Saddlery photography contest and saw that the grand-prize-winning picture looked familiar. Life has been crazy since I entered the contest in September and I had completely forgotten I’d even entered… seeing this really made my day.
https://www.mbtn.net/?p=29bwx2gu This was taken during the 2009 Spruce Meadows Masters Tournament in Calgary, Alberta. After shooting the more traditional ringside shots I was drawn to the warm up ring. (I can’t help it… I used to ride and know the real training goes on in the warmup.) I could have stayed there for the entire tournament… I was an arm’s reach from the very best show jumping riders in the world. Legends were looking into my lens and watching me as I shot pictures. This shot – completely un-cropped, was one of the better ones of the show. Horse and rider were taking a practice fence, nearly ready for their turn in the ring. I love the line of the horse’s belly, his legs tucked tidily. The swish of tail adds motion and movement.
https://purestpotential.com/y6c5ntko Just spent another day in the Texas Renaissance Festival finishing up a story… came back with some solid images and good memories. (Pics to come soon!) I have slept about five hours in the last three days and am more than ready for some time in the sack.
