Thinking and Seeing

by Fire Girl Jess on December 27, 2010

The Madison River's famed Three Dollar Bridge.

“All there is to thinking is seeing something noticeable which makes you see something you weren’t noticing which makes you see something that isn’t even visible.”

– Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It and Other Stories

It works for photography too.

Short post today.  I was meandering through a local bookstore yesterday. Bombarded by the many “junk” books that were prominently displayed, I found myself making for the “m” section.  Sometimes – often – a paragraph or two of Maclean is all that’s needed to get the creative wheels turning and to put things back into perspective.
