Time with Cory Richards

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. Yellowstone National Park, USA.

I just found out yesterday that I’ll be spending time tomorrow with Cory Richards, a North Face professional athlete.  Cory is as famous for his photography as he is for his mountaineering.

Wish we were able to spend some time in the mountains, but Austin will make do.  It never ceases to amaze me how these opportunities rise up out of thin air… I’m learning to grab them and run.

A further report will come Monday!

This picture was the result of half a day spent camping out at one of the less-trafficked overlooks in Yellowstone.  The lighting was cloudy, the weather cold and windy (it was about this time of year) and very few people were in the Park.  Perfect.  When the sun finally broke through the clouds, I was ready.  No color adjustment – the water and cliffs really are that color.

Never underestimate the importance of waiting for the right moment.
