Russia with the Ponoi River Company

by Fire Girl Jess on April 4, 2012

If you follow me on various social media, you may have already heard the news.  If not, well, here it is.

I’ve accepted a job as Assistant Manageress / Hostess at the Ponoi River Company‘s Ryabaga Camp.  Pending a very swift visa approval, I’ll leave the States in about five weeks.  The camp is on the Russian Federation’s Kola Peninsula, above the Arctic Circle.

Home to a plethora of healthy Atlantic Salmon.

The camera gear is ready to roll and I’ll be photographing and writing in my spare time throughout the entire process.

I’ve got five weeks to photograph a wedding, finish work here in Austin, throw what I can’t sell into storage, drive to Washington, and get all my ducks in a row.

Should be an adventure.
